Eric Ravilious (1903-1942) was an English artist whose work has come back in vogue lately, maybe as a result of this retro fashion?
Just as well, as he made beautiful work, ranging from wood engravings (not shown) to watercolours, and from ceramics to book illustrations. He is one of those artists that I love for beautifully depicting everyday life.
When WW2 became everyday life, Ravilious worked as a war artist, untill the plane he was on went missing near Iceland in 1942.
