Peter Vos (1935-2010) was a Dutch artist, a printmaker and draughtsman, whom I admire greatly.
Vos lived in Utrecht, like I do, and sometimes I came across him. Like the time I was in a big bookshop when a man in a shabby raincoat came into the otherwise empty shop.
The lady at the till discreetly pushed a button behind the counter, requiring assistence as this was clearly a shoplifter. I recognised the man as Peter Vos though!
I love his work, have a reproduction of his sparrows over my desk, and have many of his illustrated books.
Next year a book of his illustrated letters will be published by Rubinstein publishers. I can't wait!

I was a young lad and my mum was a friend of Peter. I was left in his studio sometimes to draw and color beside him. (I showed some talent) I ended up with a pile of studies/scetches/experiments of his,I ended up fishing out of his discard pile.
Great memories and wondering what to do with them. I framed a few and are hanging around my house.
