Evelyn Dunbar (1906-1960) is one of the Brittish artists from the first half of the last century whose work always attracts me. She depicts eveyday life. In this case especially the everyday life of the Landgirls, the women who worked the farms during WW II.
Dunbar also was an illustrator. Above are two illustrations of nursery rhymes: Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat and Ring-a-roses, that I picked because I recently had to illustrate them myself, for Kak, zei de ezel, a bilingual book of nursery rhymes that will be published early next month by Rubinstein publishers.
