Léon de Smet (1881-1966) was a Belgian painter whose style varied enormously: from pointillist to expressionist.
While gathering images for this blog, I came across much varied work, from portraits and landscapes to (many) still life paintings and these gorgeous interiors.
It is fun to see that furniture and other things were moved around to create the best arrangements for the paintings.
We can see the small painting of a vase of red flowers in different positions, and the red ladderback chair. Also the arrangement on the buffet changes from painting to painting.
