Monday hero: Ethel Spowers

I know the linocuts by Australian artist Ethel Spowers (1890-1947) only from internet, and wouldn't know if they can be seen anywhere in Europe. 

Spowers, like me, worked both as an illustrator and a printmaker.

Her work always has a nice swoop to it, sometimes the subject matter seems almost secondary to the elegance of the lines.

Take for example the lines of the kites, or the oars of the merchants.
