The photographer James Ravilious (1939-1999) was the son of the artists Eric Ravilious (who was Monday hero earlier) and Tirzah Garwood.
James Ravilious moved to Devon in the 70s. He was asked by the Baeuford Archive to document the rural way of life in North Devon. This turned into a 17 year long project.
They are beautiful pictures, depicting a way of life that seems even longer ago than it is.
A picturesque life, but also harsh.
You can't help but ask yourself if this is the time that Brexiteers feel nostalgia for..
